Question:

How might one go about measuring the growth of ones spirituality?

like looking at a tree from the out side there is no way to know the age with out looking in. A tree that grows at sea level may be huge where as one the grows in sub alpine may be the smaller of the two but be older.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I think if you get to a state that you are able to pray for the answer to this question, you may receive it for yourself. Spirituality is an intimate awareness between you and God.

I believe that it is something of faith that you can trust you are progressing, even when things are stagnant or dull.

If your heart is focused on growth you have the key to growth.....there are universal spiritual truths that ensure spiritual health....

some that I think of fondly are:

ask and you will receive

you will be judged as you judge others

or put in less biblical terms:

it is all available now...be open to it.

and be pure because Karma can be sweet as honey or bite like a b***h.

you asked......you already know...no one is going to tell you how far you've come....I could guess, but
even if I tried to, all I could base it on would be your 'fruits'

how you treat others, what you do with the time you have on earth, in other words...how loving are you?

only God really knows our depths our hearts our inner world and those who know Truth....should be able to discern, if you are of like mind/soul.

funny thing....spiritual awareness beams like a torch in the night... to those who 'know'

and as soon as a person 'knows' for the first time.....they hardly could go back to the previous state....cause all of a sudden the universe is wide open.

cheers, good question.
