Question:

What exactly do I need to record drums? (decent quality)?

Well to start off, I have the drums. But I'm not sure exactly what to get from there.

I have a basic computer with the right programs like Sony Acid Pro, but I don't have the equipment yet.

Besides a set of drum mics, what else do I need? anything particular since I just have a basic computer with one mic input?

like what kind of mixer etc... i guess i'm tryin to say

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: You're going to have to get a mixer with a USB or Firewire output. Behringer makes several, also Yamaha etc. For acoustic drums you'll need one with at least 4 mic imputs (more would be better). You don't really need special drum mics - Shure SM57's work fine - One on the snare, one in the kick, one left near the tom, one right near the other tom or ride cymbal. This will be mixed down to stereo - you'll have to experiment with levels and pan to get a good mix. Your drum tracks will be a stereo pair in your 8 or 16 tracks.
Behringer 1204 or 1222FX, Yamaha MW10 - Alesis MultiMixUSB.
