Question:

Why was Robert F. Kennedy so anti-mafia?

why was Robert F. Kennedy so anti-mafia?
The mafia got his brother elected president.
His brother used the mafia to try and kill Castro.
his dad was a bootlegger.

Was it that he was ashamed of how is dad got his money? so he was making amends?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Joe Kennedy hid behind his political appointment and office to make a fortune boot legging. He was not much better than another bootlegger and had to have done the same things as the other. The mafia had a strong dislike for the Kennedy's because despite being in the same business the Kennedy's were considered respectable, and had the protection of Roosevelt and the government.
Why would Kennedy hate the mob? When one sell your soul to the devil the devil will one day want your soul. Kennedy knew they had used and broken deals with the mod and that the mob had no love for the Kennedy's what ever. It was one against the other.
