Because similar worldviews will become allies and dissimilar worldviews will become enemies, the UK and the US (fabian socialists Churchill and Roosevelt) would become allies of Stalin and the USSR to save it from the threat of National Socialism. Japan was merely the tool that Washington DC used to get to Germany.
