whatever a string?

Question:

How do you tie/weave/whatever a string?

I've seen people do this weaving/tying thingy with a couple or so strings to form a pattern. There are a few patterns that you can do. These are often used as keychains or bracelets, I do not have a picture of it so I can't show you, but I hope you guys know what I',m talking about. Does anyone know any good sites that teach you how to do these? Videos would be good too.
