Question:

Good cheap water colors?

where can i find a set of good quality watercolors? i'm looking into playing around with them again. so i don't want to invest too much. i still want good quality though.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Grumbacher Academy is the student grade watercolor line. student grade is much cheaper in price but not much different in quality compared to the Artists line.
another brand is VanGogh watercolors, I think they may cost even less than grumbacher, and still great quality and color.
www.dickblick.com has the best prices for art supplies I have seen.
The most expensive part of watercolor is the paper and brushes. www.wetcanvas.com can tell you about what kind of brushes to chose for any medium, and for what effects you want to produce.
They have a lot of info there!

With paper, be sure to get at least 140 lb paper. anything less and the paper will buckle. I like cold pressed for the texture, (hot pressed is smoother)
