Looking for a Book!!?

So I want a book to read that is really going to grab me this summer as I'm going to be doing a lot of traveling. Please help me out if you know of any good ones. Please leave the name of the book and a little blurb about its plot. My favorite books are the following ones so if I could find something similar that would be best:

My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult
The Pact by Jodi Picoult
The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd
Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain

The following are my interests so if there is a book that goes along with these that would be great:

big cities (NYC, LA etc.)
friends
