Question:

How can I associating a pattern to an ancient culture?

I have a pattern I have always been very fond of that I draw frequently.

To make a long story short, I also believe in past lives, etc. I have been doing a lot of research into this and there is a certain pattern that I have drawn since I was old enough to hold a pen. There could be a correlation here that I wish to investigate, thus the reason for the question.

I am wondering if this is a pattern associated with a certain culture, time, place, etc. Obviously it is something that I have to say "See this, this is what I am trying to find out" but is a bit hard to do. All I want to know is if anyone knows where is a good place to go to begin my research on ancient artwork patterns to past cultures. I am looking for some reference that I can look at this design and see if it has any basis to any past culture or if this is just a nifty design I just doodle.

Personally, I find a "past life" theory flawed
The question was about patterns, not about beliefs of whether or not the whole "past life" thing is real or not. We all have opinions....

Have you shown it to someone who knew you as a child?
Yes, my parents never understood where it came from and why I always doodled it. My current wife wants to frame them all the time (If I didnt have phone numbers and other writenm things all around them).

Interesting you said that - my one and only past life regression with a certified regression hypnotist took me on a journey I will never forget. She just basically sat there as I went through many lives - one being on another planet. The fact you said that is very interesting. You may not be the "best psychic", but many times we say things not realizing where it comes from. I take nothing with a grain of salt and everything into question. Thanks for that response.

Thanks for the links to web sites that show many various cultural designs. So far I have found nothing that resembles this, but some have very strong elements of this design. Thank you again for the answers - my search continues.
