Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Unfortunately none of us will ever know the true answer to this question until we are no longer here, but every person has their own personal belief on this and I will share mine with you.

I believe that after here we simply shed our physical bodies and travel to a dimension of pure energy where we share our experiences and lessons with others there. We can then choose to remain there or we can choose to retake physical form and return here for another lifetime.

Everyone has their own beliefs on this and most people hold tightly to their beliefs like a security blanket. It comforts most and frightens some but no matter what everyone believes something, even if you believe that after here is nothing that is still a belief.
