Position:Home>Arts & Humanities> Why do so many people discount British contribution to WW2?Question: Why do so many people discount British contribution to WW2?Its undeniable that many people, particularly Americans, believe they won the war alone. However, we need to remember that the war was won by an ALLIANCE of countries, hence the ALLIES. However, before the americans entered the war, Britian fought "The Battle of Britian", and while many say we were on the defensive, we were standing up to a man who sought annexation all over Europe, ALONE. While we did stay immobile for a few months afterwards, it was because we had to recover from our temporary defeat in Europe, due to the surrendering French. However, we fought alone, and decimated the German army in France before leaving, and, for the first time, defeated Germany alone. However, some people view Britian as a "small friend " to the USA, which is an insult to all brave men that fought and died for Britian. IF ANYONE WON THE WAR ALONE, It was Russia, and, while Communist and unstable, it saved us all, in the end, from a fascist regime, which, otherwise wouldve triumphed. Russia did win WW2 alone, and I dont want to live there, thats the whole point of this, Britian is a great country, with a diverse fantastic history, much more so than yours... I dont like tea, nor biscuits much. Maybe you should shove a "cheeseburger" up your A** (Not a word). OR, "The American Office" (Ripped off from English Office), "American Idol" (Ripped off from Pop Idol) "Life on Mars" (Ripped from English version), "Red Dwarf" (Failed to rip off from English version).
